The Medicare GLP‑1 Bridge went into effect July 1, 2026. If you qualify, you could access a GLP-1 for as little as a $50 copay.

Starting July 1, 2026, the new Medicare program called the GLP‑1 Bridge opened up temporary coverage for FDA-approved weight loss medication for people enrolled in Medicare Part D who qualify. This program is available through December 31, 2027.
If you were told before that Medicare doesn't cover weight loss medication, it's worth checking again. A new temporary program now covers it for people who qualify.
