I was born in England to a family who worked for the US Goverment. We returned permanently to the United States in 1960 and I grew up in the Washington DC metro area. I attended the University of Maryland where I was a Pre-med who majored in Chemistry. I then attended the University of Missouri where I graduated with a Masters Degree in Community Health Education. I recieved my Doctor of Osteopathic Medical Degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. I attended school on a Navy scholarship so following graduation I did my Internship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. I then spent a few years serving as a General Medical Officer on a Navy ship and in a Navy clinic. I returned to Residency at Charleston Naval Hospital and completed a Family Medicine Residency. The following 25 years I served all over the world in various capacities as a Family Physician providing care to our Active Duty Service Members and their families. Following retirement from the Navy I have worked in several different types of jobs but my passion is helping patients prevent medical issues when possible and when that is not possible helping to treat the medical conditions to allow them to live their best lives. I met my husband while stationed in Adak, Alaska and we have four children who now range from age 22-32. I enjoy reading , traveling and walking on the beach in my free time.
