Understanding the treatment
Active Ingredient:
Enclomiphene citrate
Enclomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that acts on estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary, modulating LH and FSH signaling. Enclomiphene is not currently FDA-approved as a standalone product in the United States and is available only as a compounded medication prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies under prescription. Whether enclomiphene is appropriate for you, the dose, and any required monitoring are determined by your Mochi provider.

Side effects
Most common: headache, nausea, hot flashes, mood changes, and mild blurred vision. Less common but important: visual disturbances (any new vision change warrants stopping the medication and seeing a provider), elevated estrogen levels, breast tenderness, and a possible increase in clot risk. Periodic lab monitoring is recommended.
Avoid When
Liver disease; history of thromboembolic disease (blood clots, DVT, PE, stroke); primary testicular failure (where the testes cannot produce testosterone regardless of signaling); idiopathic hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism(genetic mutation leading to deficiency of FSH and LH); known hypersensitivity. Not for use in women, children, or men with hormone-sensitive cancers. Use caution with visual disturbances. Should not be used if there is a history of pituitary adenoma. Hormone evaluation should be done prior to intiating this medication.
