The treatment
Understanding the treatment
Active Ingredient:
Sermorelin acetate
Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide that mimics growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH); it signals the pituitary gland to release the body's own growth hormone. The originally FDA-approved sermorelin product (for pediatric growth hormone deficiency) was withdrawn from the U.S. market in 2008, and sermorelin is currently available only as a compounded medication prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies under prescription. It is not currently FDA-approved for any specific indication. Whether sermorelin is appropriate for you, the dose, and the regimen are determined by your Mochi provider.

Side effects
Most common: injection-site redness, swelling, or pain; flushing; headache; mild nausea; dizziness; and a strange taste in the mouth shortly after injection. Less common: changes in blood sugar, water retention, joint discomfort, or sleepiness. Rare allergic reactions can occur.
Avoid When
Active cancer or a history of cancer; pregnancy or breastfeeding; severe hypothyroidism that is not adequately treated; known hypersensitivity to sermorelin. Use caution in patients with diabetes, intracranial lesions, or pituitary disorders. Not for use in children except under specialist care.
