The treatment
Understanding the treatment
Active Ingredient:
Sildenafil citrate
Tadalafil (brand name Cialis) is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It is FDA-approved to treat erectile dysfunction, the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and ED occurring together with BPH; a separate formulation (Adcirca) is approved for pulmonary arterial hypertension. Tadalafil works by relaxing smooth muscle and increasing blood flow to the penis in response to sexual stimulation — it does not cause an erection on its own. It has a notably long half-life, so a single dose can support responsiveness for up to about 36 hours, and it can be taken either as needed or as a lower daily dose. Timing and dose are determined by your Mochi provider.

Side effects
Most common: headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, dizziness, and temporary changes in color vision (a bluish tinge). Less common but serious: an erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism) — seek emergency care; sudden vision loss in one or both eyes; sudden hearing loss; and fainting or a significant drop in blood pressure, especially if combined with nitrates or alpha-blockers.
Avoid When
Concurrent use of nitrates or riociguat (dangerous drop in blood pressure); recent heart attack, stroke, or unstable angina; severe low or uncontrolled high blood pressure; significant heart, liver, or kidney disease; known hypersensitivity. Use caution with alpha-blockers, certain antifungals or HIV protease inhibitors (which raise sildenafil levels), and conditions predisposing to priapism (sickle cell disease, multiple myeloma, leukemia).
