Why I Switched to the Mochi AI Scribe

I want to tell you about 4:30 on a Tuesday afternoon.

That used to be my least favorite part of the day. Not the patients. Never the patients. It was the notes. After a full schedule of video visits, I'd sit down with documentation still unfinished, each conversation starting to blur into the next, spending my most cognitively taxed hours on the part of medicine I went to medical school to do the least of.

Any telehealth provider at volume knows this feeling. I'm writing this because it doesn't have to stay that way.

I'd tried other AI medical scribe tools. They helped at the margins, but they all had the same problem: they came in cold. They didn't know the patient before the visit started: the dose we'd adjusted, the side effect she'd flagged, the goal we'd been tracking for three months. They captured words. That's not the same as documenting a clinical encounter.

How the AI Medical Scribe Works in Practice

The Mochi AI Scribe is built into their EHR, which means it pulls patient context before I say a word. The notes it produces aren't just accurate to today; they fit the patient's broader story. In obesity medicine, where the whole picture matters, that distinction is everything.

It also adapted to how I write. Within a few weeks, the output matched my structure, my terminology, my level of detail. For me, that extended to language, too: I conduct visits in both English and Spanish, and the Scribe has handled both remarkably well, a meaningful difference when a significant portion of my patients are Spanish-speaking.

I review notes now, I don't rewrite them. I'm finishing documentation between visits instead of stacking it for the end of the day. That 4:30 feeling has largely disappeared. For physicians, work-life balance is an ongoing challenge; this tool has genuinely saved me hours each week.

AI-Powered After-Visit Summaries & Patient Follow-Ups

Mochi Health recently launched after-visit summaries and personalized patient follow-ups built on top of the Scribe. I was skeptical; I've seen "personalized" automated messages before. They're usually personalized in the sense that they include a first name.

This is different. The follow-up references what we actually discussed: what we decided, what the patient is going to try, what to watch for. Patients notice. They come back to their next appointment having read it.

I didn't realize how much of the patient relationship lives between visits until I had a tool that helped me show up there.

Give it two weeks. I think you'll find what I found.
