Active Ingredient:
Spironolactone
Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic and aldosterone antagonist. It is FDA-approved for hypertension, edema associated with heart failure and certain liver and kidney conditions, primary hyperaldosteronism, and severe heart failure. Whether spironolactone is appropriate for you, the dose, and any monitoring are determined by your Mochi provider.

Side effects
Most common: increased urination, breast tenderness or enlargement, menstrual irregularities, dizziness, fatigue, and headaches. Less common but important: high potassium, low blood pressure, and electrolyte changes. Rare allergic reactions can occur.
Avoid When
Pregnancy or planning pregnancy (risk of feminization of male fetuses); high potassium levels (hyperkalemia); significant kidney disease; Addison's disease; known hypersensitivity. Use caution with ACE inhibitors, ARBs, potassium supplements, NSAIDs, or other medications that raise potassium. Not generally prescribed to men for acne due to feminizing effects.
