Mochi Health Statement On Recent Press
We’re committed to providing access to affordable, evidence-based obesity care. We wanted to provide a transparent update on what this recent news means for us and our patients.
We are addressing the recent news that Eli Lilly has filed lawsuits today against multiple telehealth companies, including Mochi Health. We want to explain what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what it means for you.
This legal action sheds light on underlying issues within our healthcare system. Access to these vital medications remains a challenge for many. Big pharmaceutical companies rushed to announce the end of drug shortages – yet affordability and access to GLP-1 medications are still significant barriers for those seeking treatment and better health. When they see companies like ours working to make medications more accessible and affordable, they see it as a threat to their bottom line. So instead of channeling more resources into advocating for better insurance coverage or lowering drug prices, they are choosing to come after smaller, innovative companies that are filling the gaps in healthcare.
We aren’t going to let this lawsuit interfere with our mission to provide access to affordable, evidence-based obesity care. Every decision we make is guided by this commitment. Our goal is to build a platform to enable physician autonomy – and to build strong, lasting relationships with their patients.
You’ll still continue to have the same access to your care team and be able to receive GLP-1 medications prescribed by your provider. What’s more, we’re focused on making your experience better and getting back to meeting or exceeding your expectations. Our partner pharmacies have made big improvements in getting orders out on time, and they’re close to fully clearing the remaining order backlog. We’ve also streamlined our integrations with them to speed up order processing and finally enabled tracking updates in the patient portal. We’re doing our best to cut down wait times for messages and calls, too. Our support team is working around the clock, and we’re bringing on more team members to make sure you get the help you need, when you need it.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of your health journey. We know this journey isn’t easy, and news stories like this can be alarming. No matter what, we remain committed to supporting you and your health goals.
