Our program is completely virtual, meaning you can access our services anywhere in the United States and will be meeting with our team online.

What does my Mochi subscription include?

Your Mochi subscription is designed to support your health journey with comprehensive care, personalized plans, and easy access to resources. Here's what each plan offers:


  • All Plans: Enjoy 24/7 patient support, direct provider messaging, and a user-friendly online portal for booking visits, managing prescriptions, and tracking progress.

  • Health + Medication Plan: Includes access to a weight loss prescription, regular video visits with a physician and registered dietitian, ongoing care and monitoring, and options for labs, genetic testing, and sleep apnea assessments.

  • Wellness Plus Plan (Available with Qualifying Insurance): Includes all of the same services provided in the Medication+Health Plan, in addition to advanced medical nutrition therapy, custom diet planning, in-depth health risk assessments and monitoring, and more weight care services covered by insurance.

How soon can I book a visit with a Mochi provider?

You can expect to attend your first visit with a Mochi provider within one week of signing up. You'll get to self-schedule it during the onboarding process. Looking for a specific provider but can't find them? Give us a call at +1 (619) 648-1247, and we'll help you get connected.

If your Mochi provider isn't available for a follow up visit, you can switch to another provider with more availability—either on your patient portal, or by reaching out to us. We're here to make sure your care stays on track.

What can I expect when I join Mochi?

We divide our program into 4 phases: 

  • Phase 1 - You will meet with one of our board certified providers to discuss a plan and then get started on medications.

  • Phase 2 - We will establish a health baseline for monitoring and plan for any labs or scans to help with this. You will continue to meet with your provider and registered dietitian virtually to discuss your plan.

  • Phase 3 - You will continue to meet with your provider and registered dietitian and will make adjustments to your treatment plan as needed. 

  • Phase 4 - We will recheck your labs and discuss your programs to determine next steps for maintenance.

Can I join Mochi from anywhere in the United States?

Yes! Mochi Health is a telehealth platform. You can access our services and providers from anywhere in the United States.

What will my virtual doctor visits look like?

Prior to your virtual visit with a doctor, you will complete several intake forms where we will ask you for information about the medications you are taking, your daily nutrition, and other healthcare concerns such as if you have diabetes or high blood pressure. Our doctors will review these forms to have a big picture understanding of you, your health, and your goals. Our doctors will review these forms with you during this visit to help determine what your goals are. We will discuss treatment options and determine which medication regimen are better suited for your goals.

How is Mochi different from other weight loss programs?

Here at Mochi, our board-certified providers work with you to determine what your goals are and see how the program can help support that. As the patient you have a voice in your treatment plan. Additionally, Mochi is a virtual treatment plan option so you can access our services no matter where you are in the United States!

I’m switching from another program. Do I need to start at the lowest dose?

No, we can continue you at the same dose with documentation of your previous medication.

Can I join Mochi if I have pre-diabetes, diabetes, hypertension, or other pre-existing conditions?

Yes, absolutely! You will fill out several intake forms prior to your first virtual visit with your doctor. You will include information about your health including if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or anything else.

Providers at Mochi will conduct a thorough assessment of your medical and family history, symptoms, current medications, and past treatments, and determine which medication is best for your own personal journey. Here are some medications that providers often prescribe:

What is Wegovy®? How is it different from other GLP-1s?

Wegovy® is a semaglutide medication as is Ozempic®. What is Mounjaro®/Zepbound®? How are the different from other GLP-1s?

Mounjaro®/Zepbound® is a GLP-1 agonist like Ozempic® and Wegovy®. What are the side effects of the medication?

There are more rare side effects with these medications which include pancreatitis, gallstones, and kidney problems. Are the prescribed medications injectable?

Yes. Medications like Ozempic® and Mounjaro®/Zepbound® are injected subcutaneously either into the stomach or thigh. We will work with you to make sure that you feel confident administering these medications to yourself prior to starting treatment.

Can the medications that I take as part of the Mochi program interfere with other medications I take for diabetes, high blood pressure, or other health concerns?

You will fill out intake forms where you will list out the medications that you are currently taking. This will help our providers in determining which treatment plan is best for you and your current medication regimen. Our physicians will have a chance to review your medical history and other prescriptions to check for interactions before you get started.

Will my insurance cover Mochi?

This depends on your unique insurance plan, and coverage may vary for our membership plans, medication, and other services. We’ll ask for your insurance details when you sign up to verify coverage. Our dedicated team is always available to assist you with insurance questions, including support with prior authorizations and letters of medical necessity.

Will my insurance cover medications related to my Mochi subscription plan?

This depends completely on your insurance carrier, your specific plan, and your employer, as certain employers can have special plans. Our virtual Medical Assistant team will contact your insurance to make sure they have the appropriate documentation to get your treatment plan approved if it's on your formulary. The more information that you can provide, the more we are able to support you in working with your insurance to help you get coverage for the medications relating to your Mochi subscription plan.

How long does it take insurance to cover the prescriptions related to my Mochi subscription?

Legally your insurance provider has 30 days to respond regarding prior authorizations. Mochi will work with you to make sure you have medications that can cover you in the interim while we are waiting for your insurance to provide final approval.

Yes, we offer compounded GLP-1 medications through our partner compounding pharmacies in all 50 states. We are able to provide Compounded GLP-1 for $99/month at all doses. Compounded GLP-1/GIP is offered at $199/month at all doses.

Can I use my HSA or FSA account to pay for my Mochi membership?

Yes!

Are there any extra charges for tax or shipping?

No, shipping is included in the medication prices.

What is the price of compound medication?

The price is $99/mo for all doses of Compounded GLP-1 (0.22mg weekly to 2.67mg weekly, 1 month is 4 weekly doses) and $199 for all doses of Compounded GLP-1/GIP (2.2mg weekly to 16.6mg weekly, 1 month is 4 weekly doses).

What is Mounjaro®/Zepbound®? How are the different from other GLP-1s?

Mounjaro®/Zepbound® is a GLP-1 agonist like Ozempic® and Wegovy®. What are the side effects of the medication?

The side effects of medications like Ozempic® and Mounjaro®/Zepbound® are very similar and include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. There are more rare side effects with these medications which include pancreatitis, gallstones, and kidney problems. Are the prescribed medications injectable?

Yes. Medications like Ozempic® and Mounjaro®/Zepbound® are injected subcutaneously either into the stomach or thigh. We will work with you to make sure that you feel confident administering these medications to yourself prior to starting treatment.

Can the medications that I take as part of the Mochi program interfere with other medications I take for diabetes, high blood pressure, or other health concerns?

You will fill out intake forms where you will list out the medications that you are currently taking. This will help our providers in determining which treatment plan is best for you and your current medication regimen. Our physicians will have a chance to review your medical history and other prescriptions to check for interactions before you get started.

Will my insurance cover Mochi?

This depends on your unique insurance plan, and coverage may vary for our membership plans, medication, and other services. We’ll ask for your insurance details when you sign up to verify coverage. Our dedicated team is always available to assist you with insurance questions, including support with prior authorizations and letters of medical necessity.

Will my insurance cover medications related to my Mochi subscription plan?

This depends completely on your insurance carrier, your specific plan, and your employer, as certain employers can have special plans. Our virtual Medical Assistant team will contact your insurance to make sure they have the appropriate documentation to get your treatment plan approved if it's on your formulary. The more information that you can provide, the more we are able to support you in working with your insurance to help you get coverage for the medications relating to your Mochi subscription plan.

How long does it take insurance to cover the prescriptions related to my Mochi subscription?

Legally your insurance provider has 30 days to respond regarding prior authorizations. Mochi will work with you to make sure you have medications that can cover you in the interim while we are waiting for your insurance to provide final approval.

Do you offer compounded medications? If so, how much does it cost?

Yes, we offer compounded GLP-1 medications through our partner compounding pharmacies in all 50 states. We are able to provide Compounded GLP-1 for $99/month at all doses. Compounded GLP-1/GIP is offered at $199/month at all doses.

Can I use my HSA or FSA account to pay for my Mochi membership?

Yes!

Are there any extra charges for tax or shipping?

No, shipping is included in the medication prices.

What is the price of compound medication?

The price is $99/mo for all doses of Compounded GLP-1 (0.22mg weekly to 2.67mg weekly, 1 month is 4 weekly doses) and $199 for all doses of Compounded GLP-1/GIP (2.2mg weekly to 16.6mg weekly, 1 month is 4 weekly doses).

What certifications/qualifications do Mochi nutritionists have?

Our nutritionists are registered dietitians with bariatric practice experience who have practiced in pre- and post-bariatric surgery care. They are experienced in working with bariatric patients who opt for selective medication management only.
